I have a genuine passion to become an investment banker?

I really would like to become an investment banker. I am currently enrolled in school to obtain my MBA. I do not have any relevant experience though. I have read many books on the topic, and although the money is good it is secondary in importance to how interested I am in the work. Does anyone have any advice in how to start out?

Use your network to identify someone in the industry. Then approach that person for a mentoring discussion. Most people are willing to share their experiences and opinions this way. It will give you a better sense of how to break into the field, and also a contact in that field! Go from there to continue to build your network, ask that person who else they would recommend you speak with. This is not only the best way to get information.... it's also the best way to get a job!

Hi,

You can visit http://investments.checkouttoday.info for some useful tips and info related to your query. Good luck!

First and foremost, talk to your school's career office. If you're in a reputable program, they will assist you in landing a ibanking job. Secondly, try your best to get internship experience before you graduate, that'll establish your network and look good on your resume. Lastly, familiarize yourself with interview questions on vault.com, read on wallstreetoasis.com to get in the banker's mentality

A career in investment banking is very challenging and these are very uncertain economic times. My advice would be to work on your quantative skills, finish your MBA and get very good grades. Then you might want to apply at the big mega banks like Wachovia, or Bank of America. Most program start in the summer. Start contacting the banks in the winter so that you can get into a program in the summer.
