I'd like advice from someone who works in an investment bank.?

I am currently a college freshman and would like some information regarding the pros and cons of working as an administrative assistant in a private investment bank, and what their duties/responsibilities are

Also, would accepting this position actually benefit me as a student interested in the investment world? will I learn valuable information?

I have been offered a entry level position, and would like to know if this would be an opportunity to break into the investment field or just a waste of time.

Thank you.

Nothing you work at in life is a waste of time, especially if you learn something,
Remember, every job you ever have is a paragraph in the resume

The duties in an investment bank are very wide spread, all such banks are different, but if your thinking about going into investment banking or just the investment industry in general the job a as an Admin Asst will be extremely helpful

This is a tremendous opportunity for you, regardless what they have you doing. If you don't take you're damn foolish.
Remember what I said - "All jobs are a paragraph in a resume"

Never, never let money guide you in accepting any job that provides you an opportunity of learning, especially learning something in an industry in which you have an interest.

Go for it and the best of luck
