Career path advice:Investment Banking? |
So here's my background: I am currently a junior at Georgia State University, majoring in Biological Sciences and taking a minor in Chemistry. I started college thinking that med school was my future but realized that its not something i'm passionate about at all. I started investing some spare cash a few years back, and im having a ball with it. I love the idea of working in that industry,but Is Investment banking the right thing for me? any suggestions?? Investing your money and working for investment bank are all together different ball game, my friend. But this definitely is a good start, you know what you are good at. May be you should consider right education as well. May be mathematics or CFA or MBA to make things easier. when you are dealing with investment banking i would hope they would not use tricky riddles,,,, be prepared, dress sharply,,, well groomed, very polite,,, remember if you get the job ,, you ha... investment advice without a long term proven track record is useless and would be of no interest. ...You can see what the best investors are buying and selling at ... See if you can get a Bank to sponsor you through University ...i would distribute to several competitors of company A. you know regardless the situation that it SOMETIMES can be more of a gamble to invest in ONE competitor rather than many small ones... ... Well if you have sucessful sandwich placements with them you are far more likely to get a full time job. You need to talk with them and see what assurances they give.
