Investment Advice/Info that Costs Money!? |
I'm trying to get my feet wet in the stock market soon. I figured I'd do some last minute research prior to this which lead me to TheStreet.com where Mr. Cramer posts many opinions, which I admire. The question; how serioulsy do I take any advice that costs money? Furthermore, do the most serious of investors, pay for any type of intelligent investment adice? Thank you all in advance! Ha Ha ha. Cramer knows better than that...(offering financial advice without knowing the client) Paying to view advice isn't recommend at all. In order to dive into the stock market head first just listen too their opinions. You need to know a little about technical and fundamental analysis to make proper decisions. You choose a grouping of theories you like then combine that with your risk tolerance (which Cramer has no idea about) and decide what's good for YOU. I love numbers and charts when making a decision. I also look up financial info on the company and use my accounting skills just enough to be dangerous. This is what financial advisers are for. I really believe in the odd lot theory but... for friendly advice. The long term may really favor "GREEN" companies since gas prices are going up and could reach up to $100 per barrel. Also, look into mutual funds associated with emerging growth. China & India really look good right about now. Don't jump on the bandwagon too late because you'll buy high and sell low. DIfferent advisors have different expertise so do your research. If you want to keep getting online opinions/ advice then try www.fool.com (yes, it's a real website). Good luck. Business week July 31, 2006 has a whole list of great emerging growth companies. P.43. Oh yah, go with an experienced advisor not just one who just got out of college and doesn't have any investments of their own. |
