Average new graduate salaries in the uk?

Prospects grad website and sites like tht all list really high average salaries (much more thn most ppl i know are on), think must be skewed by big money jobs from the start like Law, Investment banking etc.... If this is not too cheeky a qu wondering what some ppls starting salaries were as going for interviews at the mo and not really sure what is horrendously bad and what is reasonable really......

This is sad to answer.

I hire people and it is a sad fact that qualified young people need a degree to even get the menial jobs.

There are to many grads in the market and it is key you perform and sell your ability to change the future with your education in an interview situation.

It is very dangerous to think you will get a great career because of your qualification.

拢40 per week in 1984 - not a graduate job. Still not in a graduate job, so I'm no help, but there are others like me.

Difficult to answer as it depends what career-path you are in, and what part of the country you are in. Obviously, the big cities (such as London) will attract the highest salaries, but will also have the highest living costs, so you need to balance this as well!

It's not starting salaries, but it does show the average amount of *extra* money each type of graduate will earn over their lifetime.
