Is the U.S Economy doomed?

Bear Stearns, the fifth largest investment bank practically sunk overnight. After surviving the Great Depression and many other recessions, it seems like this potential market meltdown did them in. Not a good sign. How much worse is our economy going to get?

Depends if we keep looking to the government for help....

Its like a train thats ran out of steam but still keeps moving down the tracks, it get a little slower and slower and finally
people start looking out the curtains to see whats going on.
Where we are at right now id say we are looking out the curtains and wondering if we are out of coal.
The economy is getting hit all around and the reason is the
foriegn investors are losing faith in the buck.
It seems the trend of the U.s. dollar hasnt been about the
national debt as Ross Perot stressed the strength of the buck
when he was running for president.
Rather the problem is the focus on national security and investing in killing machines running off foriegn investors.
How bad will it get?
Now is the time to focus and act out with total vision on what
exactly is ruining the strength of the buck, it will come back
but its going to take time as the damage we could say is done but could get worse but there is a blind eye to something thats right in front of this countries face.
The worlds hunger for energy is huge not just the U.S.
we are affected by the population as well as other countires,
its kinda strange but it seems this hunger got big a few years after the war.
Is it the war thats doing it?
Or the political chess game that eastern countries play during a war, like investing in stocks that make this country go broke.
Theres a lot of factors but when push comes to shove this country will figure it out and make a strong come back at any costs.
