Is a job in Human Resources always going to be bad pay?

I am going to a final interview at the UK's top investment bank to be a part of the HR team. Will the pay get a lot better?

I don't know about in the UK, but as an HR Director for an Insurance Company in the US, I make a 6-figure salary plus benefits, preqs, and a bonus.

Hang in there.

HR pays very well at manager level.
If they have offered you lower wages than you may expect could this be because you are not qualified, or are still in the process of getting qualified?

Yes. There are plenty of positions in the US in HR that pay 6 figures.

An HR officer is basically a manager, you'll get a managers pay. As you improve in experience you'll get paid more and who knows, maybe someday if you're truley gifted you'll make it to the COO of your company.

Now, if the corporate ladder isn't really your thing and you want to be in a higher paced, better paying starting job you should apply at a corporate raider's firm. If your really good with people, which you must be to be HR, you just might get a position working to convince executives to switch companies.

The pay should be good. The Human Resources department takes care of the human capital and its well beings in an organisation. Especially the motivation, salaries and benefits of its staff.
They will look into the best and competitive salaries and benefits for the staff. So what is good for the managers is also good for them.

Stick with it, sounds a great thing to get into for sure your money will increase, everyone has got to start somewhere right? It sounds good; an investment bank too.. Great stuff, learn the ropes and the employment rules and regs and you can only go up and up!!
Good Luck!
