What did you want to do growing up? What do you do now?

I wanted to do investment banking because of the money...now I want to help people who really need help so maybe something in the U.N., but instead I am going for an interview as manager of securities and investigations at this bank...I guess what we want and need are different things

it's simple; are you selfish (sales), are you independent (real-estate, massage therapy), do you want to give (teaching, medical), are you lazy (marry rich, manipulate), are you spiritual(take the lead, sing - play), are you shy (library, legal roassistant), greedy (banking), gay (drama, art, sex industry), a blonde (ballerina, cheerleading, gay porn), illegal (fast food)...

teach tkd,
no serious students.

I wanted to be a veterinarian but now I'm here studying music education...big difference.

I wanted to be an Archaeologist like Indiana Jones, and now, I am on the verge of being a Medical Coder---working in to get healthcare reimbursement from insurance companies for providers.

I wanted to be a Firefighter since I was 3 years old. I am one now and love every minute of it.

When my son was 3 he wanted to be a tree. Now that he is 7 he wants to go to college and live with his parents for as long as he can get away with it.

i wanted to be a lawyer growing up, for so many reasons. but i didn't know how to act right as a kid and didn't finish school, so i dicked around for a couple of yrs & now i'm going to school to be a Radiology Tech. We'll see how that works out.

I wanted to be a scientist ... and I am now an engineer ... not bad. What I need is money so what I want and what I need are definitely different things.

As a kid I wanted to be an Opera Singer. Instead I've been working in a bookstore and now work as a volunteer in the printing shop of the Gutenberg Museum in Mainz/Germany...

I wanted to me a magician, now I get paid to travel the world for an adventure company. I think it's better than magic.

You can be many things when you grow up.
No one is just one thing.
Best is to do things you enjoy , and do not pay attention to what others expect you to be. They will only make you un happy

If you are good at something you will most likely be successful at it,, and that means you may also reap the benedits of it.
You will be respected in the field you chose, and may become rich.
So when you hit on something you really enjoy doing , follow that road.

When you find your true goal, you will be un stopable, you will research it , study , learn it because you love the work.. you can become obsessed with it, Go for it.

Some people know when they are young what they want to do.
Most find things as they test out occupations

I wanted to be an Electronic Engineer but now i am a Banker

I wanted to be an archaeologist or an Interior Decorator.
Currently I 'm just a mom with more worries than I ever could have imagined................................... My dogs are the archaeologists and my cat is the Interior Decorator. lol

I always wanted to be on the radio. After leaving school I worked as a logger with a timber company for a while until the company I worked for went bust. Then I joined the police service and stayed with them for 23 years until I was in a car crash which had me crippled for a few years. I left the police and went to college to fulfill another ambition. I wanted to be an actor. So after a very hard 5 years study and performance I ended up with BA Honours Degree in acting. I spent a short time after graduation as an actor/writer/director and then applied for a job with an insurance company to make some money. (Most actors are really poor or work at other jobs at the same time.) After a few years I decided that the insurance company wasn't for me - I hated the travelling and didn't like the work much - but it paid the bills. So, then I went back and found a job with my old employer - the police. It's a world I know and I'm happy in - and it pays the bills too. Whatever you do - you always need the money. If you can find a job that suits you at the time - take it; but don't be frightened of change. Good luck in all you do!
