How much does a first year investment banking analyst make?

It depends upon the city you live in and the sized firm you are working at. Salaries generally start at $75,000 US and you can easily double your salary in bonuses. Be aware though, that this salary figure is very misleading in terms of how much you might make per hour. If you are working 5000 hours per.

People generally don't take an analyst position for the money. Its hard work and your living expenses can be very high in New York, which is where most of the analyst positions are. Many people make lifelong friends with other analysts, and you will find that your co-workers become like a second family.

A lot of the on-the-job training is immensely valuable as well. You will learn how to put flip-books together and learn the buy side and sell side of the business.
