Beside New York, where else is Investment Banking Thriving?

Beside New York, where else is Investment Banking Thriving?

New York is still considered "king", although other banking hubs certainly rival Wall St. experience. London and Hong Kong are generally considered "on par" with NY (some NYers may disagree), with London covering business in Europe and HK as the HQ for Asia. Some bulge bracket firms also have a major presence in Singapore, to cover the SE-Asia emerging markets. Singapore, however, is generally considered more tame than HK and is sometimes considered a satellite office. JPMorgan has the largest presence in Singapore, with 950 staff in the location; of this 950, however, only ~30 are bankers (work in IBD) and the rest work in other divisions.

Seoul, Toronto, LA, Chicago, and some other cities are generally considered a secondary afterthought (although still excellent locations to start one's career).
