Is investment banking the best career option for finance professionals?

i mean, the best of the lot from b- schools here take it as a career n the others aspire to do so. what is so gr8 abt it. i am going to join a b- school next month n thus such questions r nagging me right now. just as ancilliary information, i dont have a prior background in finance/ commerce.

Most people like it because they make so much money, work with smart people, like the challenge and enjoy the prestige. However, most people who aren't in IB would say that its not worth it for how much you have to work.

There are many other careers in finance that offer a less stressful and demanding environment then IB, I'd research careers in commercial banking, corporate finance, investment management, etc. to see what works for you.
