Investment Banking - Oil & Gas? |
I am an engineer with almost 6 years of oil & gas experience doing my MBA - finishing April 2007. Is Investment Banking good career in Calgary/Canada? There's no real right answer. I'm not sure about Calgary, but are there a number of banks out there? Obviously, banking is a bit down its peak a few years back with everything IPOing then. A large part of it is sales and networking once you start working your way up the ladder, so if you're comfortable doing that, you might do well. If you prefer the typical engineer jobs, then banking might not be the right choice. Well i think investment banking is bigger in the cities in the US, or Vancouver, or Torronto. But if you have an oil back ground you can make a TON of money the farther north you go in canada. Like northern BC or Alberta. The companies pay everyone to relocated and help you do it and then pay you a ton extra. Look to see what oil companies in canada are hiring for. |
