I鈥檓 in my senior year in finance. What do I need to do to get hire by an investment bank?

You need more than a degree - you need to be able to convince the investment bank that:
1) you're one of the best people they can find
2) you learn very quickly
3) you're very detail oriented, and would never miss a simple typo like writing "hire" instead of "hired". Missing simple grammar or punctuation on even a short note or e-mail will get you quickly disregarded. Be careful - sometimes it's the small things that make a difference.

You don't say where you're going to school but if your goal is to be hired by a top tier I-bank (e.g. Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, UBS, etc.) then you have to have GREAT grades (> 3.7) from a GREAT university (top 15). If that's not you then there is nothing you can do RIGHT NOW to get in the door.

If this is your dream then work for a couple of years, do REALLY WELL on the GMAT and get into a top 5 graduate business school. Do really well there (top 10%) and you'll have several offers.

These I-banks have their absolute pick of incredibly accomplished graduates. The simply won't spend the time talking to you if you haven't show excellence to date.

Some of the mid-tier I-banks might accept you with great undergrad grades from a mid-tier school or graduate business school.

Good luck.

Get an MBA.
