Outside of the corporate tax department at an investment bank, who might also need tax information?

Quite often, lenders and others interested in your (or your companies) financial soundness are NOT really looking for tax information. It's just that the tax forms that are already completed have all the answers.

So, rather than asking you a bunch of questions and recording all the answers on home-made forms, they ask for copies of tax forms. It's a lot easier.
