What are the tasks and responsibilites of an employee working in operations for a large investment bank? |
I am looking to familiarize myself with the responsibilites one would have working in the operations department of an investment bank. What does a manager look for in a qualified employee? Take a look at some of the job descriptions for a start. if you're going to be in the operations department, you'll probably be involved with compliance, auditing, fraud, risk control, analysis, etc. You'll definitely need the quantity-type mindset--numbers driven and operational in thought. It's a service position more than anything. In that kind of position, I would be looking for someone who is ethical, numbers driven, dedicated, motivated, a team player, and all the qualities that any hiring manager would look for. |
