Stock investments?

I am well aware that the company I am invested in right now that the stock market is way down, but I am new to this whole stock thing so can someone help me figure it out? I have 25 shares and this is what the NYSE says today鈥?br> Symbol $ Last Trade Volume $ Change % Change

I work for a lender and this was given to me. Since I didn't put anything into it I think I will just watch it and see what happens. I was just trying to figure out what you actually end up having invested (total) in that company.

Symbol is the abbreviated name of the stock=NDE
Last Trade is the current price = $31.85
Volume is how many shares were bought/sold today=789,500
Change % is how much the price has changed today in percent=1.23%
Change is how much the price has changed today= $.91

NDE is as you well know a mortgage lender. They are not asub-prime lender but almost as bad. Alt-A is their thing and it could bight them badly. You are fortunate in that you have only 25 shares. Not only is NDE at risk, The whole economy is at risk, but NDE is floating near the top of the risk pool.

You have really three choices. 1. bail out 2. stand pat 3. buy some more. It is difficult to tell how bad the situation is for NDE, but since the company has said that the concerns are overblown, that is a very bad sign indeed.

Personally, I learned my lesson some years ago about holding onto companies that have problems. You might still need to learn that lesson.
