How can I research real estate holdings of public companies?

I am trying to do investment research. I read the annual report (10k) of Home Depot, but I do not see a disclosure of how many stores are owned vs. leased. Is there a free, online resource to find out how public companies hold their real estate?

I think you might get that information from the registrars office of the company.

Each county and state would have a record of how many properties each company owned, but that would be very very difficult to do. I do not know of a website that would do what you are asking for
