How I can justify the hiring of more personnel in the staff???

How I can justify, to the direction of the company, the hiring of more personnel in the staff? It is important to make it so that approach this be generated gains and better results. The justification must be based on numbers. For example, using the rate of investment return: ROI.

We want to hire engineers and we are in health-care industry.

There are two basic types of personnel: those that help increase revenue and those who are simply costs of doing business, such as support staff/ clerical. In strategic human resource management, which is what you are speaking of basically, the economic goal is attraction and retention. These are measurable in terms of staffing turnover and efficiency. Determine your metrics there first. Then, hire for positions that will generate additional revenue, which again is measurable and then additional support only as needed. Determining ROI begins with the average length of tenure for current employees. Also included are the costs associated with recruiting, hiring, and training as well as compensation and benefits. You will next need the revenue growth forecasts projected to determine how many staff you can afford. Dividing that figure by the costs to hire, train, and compensate will provide you with the ratio of return. Do this for both revenue generating employees and non-revenue generating employees. Finally, you can project out into the future based upon the average tenure of currently employed staff to determine the long term ROI as well. While there is a great cost for turnover, there is also a cost for retention. However, retained and well managed staff will keep labor costs lower due to efficiency. Essentially, this means looking at personnel as human capital with retention (versus depreciation or turnover) and an algorithm that provides key indicators for reducing costs over time and increasing ROI, including variability.

Show how hiring more staff increases efficiency and you pay less via overtime and lost work days, as the staff is overworked and burning out

I need more information from you, what kind of business is it and what will the new staff members will be doing?

If it involves sales then more sales people should be easy to justify.

If it is manufacturing, then more product output is the justification if you are having difficulties fulfilling production schedules.
