Are good companies good investments?

Are good companies good investments?

If your are going to invest money in stocks, you definitely want to invest it in good companies. Those are companies that have a consistant history of sale and earnings growth and that have a strong balance sheet. They do not necessarily have to be large companies, just good companies.

If you are investing in bonds "good companies" will pay a lower rate. Report It

depends on what you mean. Some obvious companies may not be good investments because everyone wants to invest in it and it "loses value". If you're talking about companies that have always been about quality and you have faith in it, I personally think those are good investments

Well of course. But be careful good companies usually have good companie costs. I would go with an ok company based on chart referances. Good companies are usually stable however cost alot!

you want to look into what is called "feel good" stocks, companies that run green, or help the enivroment, they don't usually have a big return, but are usually safe in the long run

You will often hear analysts recommend "Best of Breed" stocks, or stocks that tend to be larger in market capitalization, and be well-established companies with a history and name recognition. These stocks tend to be slower moving, and there for are better suited for investors, not traders. When in doubt, go with a name you trust.

It depends on your time horizon.

Some solid companies have stock that hardly moves, while newer companies may be more risky, but will make bigger moves that you can do some buying and selling along the way.

Remember you need to give your investments time to grow.

Short term investing usually ends up with losses, even if you buy solid companies at the wrong time.

They say timing is everything. It certainly applies to investing.

Yes and no. Buying the best company in the best performing sector always works if a) you pick the best company and b) you pick the best performing or one of the best performing sectors. If you can do that, the answer is yes. If you can't ( and most of us can't do this consistently ), the answer is no.
