How do we make our investment balanced in the stock market, like proper mix of investment?

like we minimize the risk factor by investing in many companies,a proper mix ,???

Looking at the responses you have received so far appears to be very inappropriate since there was not sufficient information to properly guide you into particular types let a lone specific security sectors.
What you should look into is what is called Asset Allocation which is dividing you investments into various types based on your age, income, objectives and risk tolerance.
The investments may include Fixed Incomes, Equities, Funds, Real Estate, and precious metals. These investments may be in the US, Europe, Pacific rim, or other foreign areas. These would be broken down further into various industries, or markets.
Try searching the web, address MSN Money, Investools.com, Vanguard, just to name a few. But continue your research and be careful of the information you may receive blindly.

Invest in many sectors - that is IT, Pharma, Auto etc.
Also invest in both large caps and mid cap stocks. So even if one of these indices goes down, the other may hold up
