How to address interviewer during interview and for follow up thank you notes.?

I am 33 yrs old and interviewing for a position in commercial real estate. It's been a while since I've interviewed anywhere and was curious to how I should address the interviewer/potential new boss during the interview and with a follow up thank you note. Do I address him as Mr. or call him by his first name. The new boss is 7-10 years older than myself.

The reason I ask is I worked for one of the largest US investment companies for a number of years and everyone was addressed by their first name (even the CEO). Also, all of the institutional clients we worked with were all referenced by their first names only.

In the beginning, I always address the supervisor or boss as "Sir /Madam or Mr./Mrs. ??????" If they want to be more informal, they will let you know. This shows respect and a level of professional behavior.
And the follow up note, do the same thing.
Good luck on the interview.

Call him Mr. Lastname when you are first introduced. If he wishes to be called by his first name, he will tell you.

Go with Mr.

You can't go wrong with that.

Address him as Mr. .... . If he says it's okay to do so, address him by the name he gives you.
