Lowes (LOW) as an investment?

Lowes seems to have great reviews, and listed as a great buy but isnt any higher now then a year or two ago. A fortune 500 company and growing yet I dont see it....... Can anyone help me here?

Lowes is fairly cheap now and they have been gaining market share to HD, but I would avoid any housing sensitive stocks. I also just had a terrible experience going to buy windows at Lowes. Look at the MLP pipeline companies they are safe boring, undervalued and pay good dividends. I also expect a nice January rise after tax loss sale season. ETP; NS; SUG; BPL. ETP top pick 40%+ projected.

Lowe's is another big box store that doesn't live up to expectations. Customer service is tepid at best from sales people to managers. The products they sale are no different from the other big-box stores which means there isn't much setting them apart. People shop there for two main reasons: they don't like the other big-box stores or something is a few pennies less. It's like Pepsi vs. Coke.
They market is not the side of Lowe's, with the housing market in such disarray the need for building supplies even for remodels is not in demand.

Invest your money in international stocks and bonds. Or domestic pharmaceuticals.

Lowes like many other builders and retailers have been hurt by the credit crunch. People are having a hard time paying there mortgage, car payments, food, energy ect. They are putting off home repairs and remodeling.

yeah, I think the time to invest was 3-4 years ago. If you are going long term, ( > 5 years ). You may want to buy these guys at the bottom.
