How can you help a group of investors that are truely being scammed on their investment?

Ok, I've been reading about a company in my city. It is a very small company, and I know for a fact that the numbers they are projecting are far from what they are earning. What can I do in this situation. What if this company was a competitor? What would you do in this situation

Write to your state attorney general's office or the treasury office with your concerns. Projecting is just that though.. projecting. Forcasting. We all know the weather guy is wrong A LOT! To project "blue sky" for a small company (not publicy owned) I dont know if a law is really broken. Careful though... companies donate to political campaigns and officials are bought and sold like cattle! I don't think I helped very much. Sorry.

Well to investigate a company here are some tips:
Find out what county they are in and look up the license for the company. they have to have some type of license to operate the business from the county or state you live in.
Secondly a company has to file taxes, so you can research public records on the company as far as income vs expenses.
If they have stock you can look it up on the internet, if the company does not have stocks it might be a little more difficult.
With companies that are privatley owned and operated with no stocks it's a little difficult to research earnings vs expenses becuase they can doctor up the books.
You could file a complaint with your better business berau or local chamber of commerce.
I guess I would want to know why you care so much about what this tiny company is doing?
