How can I become an awesome investment banker? |
Im 14 and i go to st. johns prep in Danvers, MA. I have always been interested in stats, stocks, and money. I want to go to Harvard or somewhere near NYC. I also want to work for Goldman Sachs. MY uncle is a successful trader and i don't know if I should work in his company as an intern. What should I do? Very few 14yo's get the opportunity to work with a professional trader. If you are interested in finance, don't let that opportunity pass. Besides the training and knowledge that you'll receive, you'll also gain valuable network connections (I mean people, not the internet). Study Hard! If you have a strong goal at your age, you should focus on it. Take all of the courses necessary and apply what you have learned to your future. Ask your uncle's advice and see how it can help you get ahead. Oftentimes, getting some hands on experiences will help get the higher education you wish to attain. Good Luck! Well since you are fourteen, you probably couldnt get an internship at Goldman Sachs or something. However if there is anyway your Uncle can let you get some experience with him before you go to college and your first couple of years in college it will be very beneficial. Get started now with a hypothetical 10 grand and pick 4 positions (stocks). Choose wisely and see if you can make the money grow by buying and selling. Learn about the companies and what makes the value go up and down. When the time comes to getting a job in the field, You will know all there is to know. You can find banker job positions |
