Career Switch?

Hi,

I'm working as a mechanical engineer now. I'm thinking of enrolling in next yr's June CFA exam. I was thinking like, maybe I should go through and pass at least 2 levels of the CFA exam first before i make a switch to the investment field. I have heard that some investment companies do not require you to have prior finance knowledge as they are willing to provide finance training and even sponsor you for the CFA qualification.

My question is, should I quit and move over to investment field now or shld I pass the CFA exams first before I quit and move on?

I don't think you should quit your present job now. Pass the CFA exam first then decide if a career in the investment field is for you.
