Do investment bankers add value to companies seeking to raise money for growth?

Do investment bankers add value to companies seeking to raise money for growth?

Yes. Unless you have access to capital you certainly will find it difficult to grow unless your company creates enough free cash flow to grow organically.

Investment bankers are paid to analyze your firm, package the financial scenario in a palatable form to investors and then sell investors on why they should invest in your company.

If you have a big network, you may be able to get by without them. You are paying for their network of money and their knowhow in dealing with those with money to invest.

We all hate to give money out, but they offer a valuable service even if they may seem overpaid. Its the greed factor that keeps them working hard for you!
