Is SunCor Energy Inc, the company out of Alberta producing oil from the oil sands of canada a good investment?

So long as oil stays about $70.00 a barrel, SunCor should do fine. Their cost of production is about $19.00 a barrel. They are currently producing 266,000 barrels per day. They hope to upgrade production to 550,000 barrels per day by 2012. They also operate refineries, a highly profitable operation and have a network of filling stations, not so profitable an operation.

What issues might effect future earnings:

regulatory rulings. They have to receive regulatory approval for expansion.

Royalty payments. These are expected to increase greatly.

You might compare SunCor to Encana to see which would be the best investment.
