How do I check company information for an LLC? |
I want to check on an investment company - not just their own web site. If you know the state in which the company is registered, you can go to the state's corporation division and look up information on officers, registered agents and operating/mailing addresses. That is, if the state has public records available online. For a fee, you could use Dun & Bradstreet at www.dnb.com. Go to your state's corporations division website. You'll be able to look up LLC information based on name. Go to the Secretary of State website for the state that they are in and check them out there. Start with the Better Business Bureau. You might want to contact the IRS to see if you can get any information that is disclosed to the public or ask if they know where to search for investment purposes. You may have to resort to an investment lawyer. |
