Getting experience while in college ?

Hi, I am currently pursuing Undergrad degree in Math (planning to do second degree in Economics).

I want to work in Finanial firm.

I got this part-time job 4 hr/day as computer operator in brokerage firm...have to work for investment advisor and associate advisor).

Its not good paying....but should I stick to this job during my school time as well if I can manage it?

Would it look good on my resume ...once i graduate ?

thanks

yes, it would look great on your resume. Is $ something that you really need right now? Do you like the environment there? If it is you may want to look elsewhere but if it isn't you can stay. Please keep your options open, you might find something with better pay. Also, how many hours are you working there? If you aren't working a lot stay there for the experience- they also want to see consistency- been there for a while so work there for as long as you can. Good luck!

you can work there while try to find a internship during the summer time

yes, it would probably look good on your resume. See if your manager will cross train you or allow you to be cross trained in other aspects of the company, too, if time allows to broaden your skills.

If you do get another job, ask your college's Career Services Department for some help in finding the one that will be most beneficial for experience upon graduation.

It could be that since you'll be a known factor at your present employer that they will hire you upon graduation if you have a good reputation with them.
