Job offer ?

Hi,

I am currently undergrad student....I just got part-tim Job in brokerage/investement firm (working for investment advisor)

on Monday I have to go and sign the Job offer.

....i have never worked like in professional enviroment where you go and sign job offer....just wondering would they ask me someother questions as well....i am still kinda nervours....already had 2 interviews for this Job.

Should i take Thankyou letter with me ...or just say Thankyou on spot ..??

thanks

Working with a brokerage firm opens up a whole new environment for work that you are probably not used to. They have to be sure that all the legal phrases are in something you sign, and probably will ask you to sign something that says you will not divulge proprietary (their) information to another firm or other people. I wouldn't worry about it, it's a standard thing. I wouldn't take a thank you letter with you, it will seem like you knew you would get the job and that would seem forward. Just thank them and ask when you can start! Good luck!

don't say thanks it may seen as if your very thirsty for the job.

You have the job, congratulations. Any questions they ask will be related to your preferences for the office or small talk. Your preferences, do you prefer to be in the phone listing as Bill, Billy, or William. Do you prefer a left or right handed desk.
The letter you will be signing is a document that will state you are accepting the position and will include information such as title, start date, pay rate and if part time-possibly your schedule.
They may ask you to fill out I9, W4 and other forms, make sure you take your social security card and drivers license with you.
If you haven't already mailed the thank you letter, take it with you.
Thinks you might want to clarify: dress code (written or informal), lunch/break arrangements (everyone puts in an order for the delivery next door, everyone brown bags, etc.). Who/where should you ask for when you report your first day. etc.

Dont be nervous. Be EXCITED. A job offer is standard practice in most companies. It puts everything on paper "in writing" That way there are no suprises. Protects them and you at the same time. Congrats.
