Look for land near hot cities, such as Charlotte NC. But I would buy near a city you know much about if it's one where real estate is booming. I live in Asheville, NC, and there is a lot of opportunity here too, just north of the city.

Or if you want to invest in the stock market, then this is a good time to buy into oil, copper, titanium, or even gold mining companies. (basically in things that are becoming more rare as China's economy grows)
