What is the best way to begin smart investing? |
I'm a young man who is looking into short term and long term investment options. Where is a good place to start? Start saving money in a CD or money market account until you have enough for a down payment on the house. Then, you should Dollar Cost Averaging in an Index Fund until you have enough money or experience to buy specialized funds or individual stocks. Stay out of the stock market untill after March or April. Get a book called Point and Figure Charting by Thomas Dorsey , and study it! Go to Stockcharts.com for a great free charting service, and learn all you can stand about the Elliott wave principle.The book Elliott Wave Principle by Frost and Prechter is excellent. Check Amazon.com. Ebay, and half.com for the best book prices. Good luck!! Yahoo has a great stock market section, if not the best! |
