What are the good options for investment in Canada?

Fixed monthly income can be deposited for the kids future education. Or for family security. Any good options and what will be interest rate for the same..

This really isn't a taxation question. I'd put it in personal finance or investing. A lot of it really depends on how aggressive of an investor you are.

We have a family plan for our kids, which means that either kid can draw from the pool when they go to school. The other benefit is that both sets of grandparents can contribute to the fund.

Different plans give you different investment options. Because we set up the plan with my eldest child was a baby we decided to go for some equity investments that have the potential for a higher return than fixed income. We will likely flip over to fixed income once our eldest is 4-5 years away from attending university.

Check with your financial institution to see what options they have available. For children, RESP's are a good choice.

For you, RRSP's, and leveraged investments both offer some tax relief (you deduct the interest on the money borrowed to earn certain types of income), and for RRSP's you deduct the entire amount of the contribution, and it grows tax free but pay income tax on it later when you withdraw it. Approach leveraged investing with caution - you would want to be pretty confident in the investment.

Some form of life insurance would also offer family security, and the insurance money your beneficiary receives is tax free.
