How do I make my website popular?

im an advertising affilate of google adsense. I need to make my site popular. i have added my site to google, yahoo, netscape search n all thhe top 20 search engines. yet, theres no traffic over these 6 months. i have added all the necessary keyword meta tag. i hv tried many seo services, which offr free services. nothin happened. i tried 2 advertise even on chatrooms, bt no one bothered, not a single person. i ha also tried 2 advertise on yahoo answers, bt on 1 bothered 2 visit dat site. the site contains no porn/offensive, it has helpful links on individual investment planning. i also used multiple scrapper 2 scrap my 129 orkut friends, shockingly, no one bothered 2 visit the site! what should i do now, other than del it?

What you have described is exactly what I hate about most websites. Obviously just trying to make a quick ad buck and provides nothing of any real or unique value to anyone. There are millions of sites just like yours on the web and the moment I accidentally land on one I am gone.

Go back to the drawing board and rethink your strategy. Ask yourself: what do I bring to the table that will be of interest and will be helpful to other people? You will get visitors this way - not by providing a set of links that someone could more easily get using a search engine.

Another pet peeve is that 90% of the sites contain nothing more than recycled content. Pick a keyword, search, look at site after site and all you see is the same content. Plus the pages are full of ppc ads, affiliate ads and "vote for me / myAward" images that are really just link back schemes that people are buying into.

People will (eventually) come to your site when you have something to offer them that they cannot get elsewhere.

you sound uneducated to say the least.
who would want to try a website that was advertised in this way . I would hope that this wasnt the case. in your actual advertising campaign .

Its not so easy, you have to go to your competitive sites, should study about them what they offer in in what way, and try to provide more & different stuff to your site.

Remember - "No Pain, No Gain" , and pain should be in effective direction too.

when your sites have been exposed to hundreds of people and never bother visit do you think if you got 1000 peoples exposed to it they will bother to visit. i suggest you join any webmaster forum and asked their member to review your site. usually in webmaster forum there are section to post a question to review site. there you can do a lot more discussion. check out below resources for the forum. there are many others. if you need more info on online biz you can check out my site thru my profile.
