Investment plan for sr citizen aged 60 and above intrest rate 9% and above?

In the current interest rate environment, you'd have to be in a market-based product to get 9% or higher. A balanced mutual fund (60% stocks, 40% bonds) can accomplish this, but make sure you plan to stay in for at least 5 years. Also consider a variable annuity, which may cost more than a mutual fund in fees, but gives you some death benefit, as well as living benefit income riders.

5.25% cd-insured-no risk-better than that is risky-good luck

I'm not sure about 9%, my parents are in a Reit called Inland that has always paid out 8%.

I like the Energy sector. Oil and natural gas are not going to be replaced soon. Look at Canadian Trust and limited partnerships. Go to yahoo finance and look at these: CRT, BPT, PVX, PWI. Canadian energy stuff is way down now due to proposed tax laws and are real buys with big payouts.

You can recoup a tax imposed by Canada if you itemize deductions but the dividends are still great.

Try Ethanol.. I have invested in Ethanol Companies and have seen a 36%ROI.

one company that is up and comming is www.midwestethanol.com
