Does the VA have a Savings or Investment plan for disabled army veterans who are compensated? |
Can a disabled military veteran sign up for the Thrift Savings Plan even though his or her income is not taxable? If not, are there other investment plans that the U.S. military or VA offers? I'm not too knowledgeable about the Vet plans, but as a broker I would think you could sign up for a Roth Ira (taxed before but not when you pull out) or a straight IRA (pre-tax, but you get taxed when you pull out)...these are the plans I'm familuar with that you could invest in. You can always sign up for the TSP, they even calculate how much of the money you put in is non-taxable. There is also another savings plan that promises a stable 10% interest a year. That one is seperate and only takes lage sum deposits...i forgot what it was called... but you can google it. I am not familiar with VA plans |
