I want info about the scope, growth, sector size & future prospects about the Indian funeral service industry?

In a nutshell, I want to know;
the size of the Indian funeral service industry as on today,
the projected size of the same in near future i.e. around 2010,
the growth rate (both annual & CAGR%)
the future prospects,
the key players in this segment,
their market share (%) &
investment required to be a player in this sector

please answer as soon as possible as i am doing a project on it.

People normally avoid talking of this segment and look down at the person thinking or discussing potentials in this sector.

Anyway, the sector is mostly controlled by traditional religious groups and of late participation is seen by some NGOs. The sector is not organised and therefore, any authentic data is not available. Most of the activities covered are local and restricted to a village, town or a locality in a big city. These are mainly splinter groups operating in this sector and the business is being done in the sham of religious ceremonies, social fear and traditional practices with or without any reasoning.

A courageous entrepreneur can do very well in Indian funeral service industry with a well thought business model of appropriate blending.

It may be a lucrative business as ther are people dying every minute and the funeral service is an indespensible part of ritual ceremonies that most communities not only in India but all over the world follow.

However, my suggestion is please do not make your profits on the funeral service, as people are already in mourning & the high costs of the funerals only hurt their sentiments more.

Make your profits on some other business and as a part of your goodwill / payback to the society, also handle the funeral service 'at cost' or on a very low margin of profit.

If you do this, people will prayer for you & God will bless you and with Gods blessings you will do very well in your other profitable business.
