Scott-trade and 15 yr old investor?

Good for small investments with long term / short term basis?

I am 15 and want to start investing. How should this be approached with a stock brokerage?

dont take advice other then from your broker and look at the long term average of 10 15 and 20 yr returns and go for mut funds

Scottrade could certainly work for you.

I'd also recommend checking out Zecco (www.zecco.com) which has no comissions on the first 40 trades you make a quarter.

Why don't you go for sogoinvest? They have rocked the stock markets. $3 per trade is so cheap.Fractional share investing, compound return, diversification, and dollar cost averaging, which are essential in a long-term investment plan are some of the features that make them outstand other players. you can check out their education section if you are new to sogoinvest. Automated and real-time trades are also available with the discount broker.

why dont u start to paper trade and gain experience first, i dont want you to lose you money....

Scottrade is GREAT unless you want to trade penny stocks (under $1)....but they're more generous with enabling margin trading.....you would have to get your parent to open it probably and then just have an understanding that it's YOUR money, you just need the password and you rock and roll.....Lebed started that way in fact.

Mutual Funds are tied to the general market, that can be great or horrible....it's wonderful to find a stock like NTRI under $5 with a low float and profits busting out.....then ride it to big wins.
