If I own the lease on mineral rights for a natural gas field, am I allowed to sell a portion to an investor? |
I want to sell a portion of interest in a gas well that has been drilled and capped. But I don't know who would buy such a thing. Nobody seems to understand that there is litteraly 10's of millions of dollars (USD) right under my feet and I just want to get it out of the ground.I have all the engineering reports and a pluged up hole in the ground @ 19,000 psi and when I talk to people about selling interest in the well to fund the extraction process they look at me like I'm from Mars. WTF? Well hell natural gas was up a lot for the past couple years. The capped wells I know about in Kansas have been turned back on. There must be something wrong with your well if no one wants anything to do with it. Maybe the gathering pipelines in your area are shut off now or broke down. If it's yours you can do whatever you want with it. There is probably someone willing to buy it. How you are suggesting is not practical at all. Tens of millions of dollars? I doubt it. |
