I recommend tdameritrade.com or scottrade.com. They (and many other brokers) charge $10 per trade or less for a trade placed via the internet.

Small investors can invest this way, and even successfully. You will have to be able to come up with at least $500-1,000 as an initial deposit in order to open an account.

Morgan Stanley India is a good fund (ticker symbol IIF).
