No but it can come in handy. Real estate agents have access to information vital to the acquisition of some great deals where by the time it's public information it's too late. Agents often know of great deals and tip off their friends before they ever come to market. If you don't want to get licensed yourself, I suggest you form a good relationship with someone who is. I'm personally not licensed but I have a buddy who is and he allows me to use his information to access agent only databases etc. It's all about who you know!!!
