Any suggestions on a good book for the beginner investor? Someone with little or no knowledge of trading?

Looking to start investing online but I first need a basic education in the markets and investing in them.

Any of the Suze Orman books are great for beginners.

Jim Cramer of Mad Money on CNBC also has some great books that deal mostly with the stock market. Your local library should have them.

Online, you can go to Morningstar.com for free lessons.

Don't learn technical analysis. Looking at charts and timing when to get in the market never works consistently.

I go to this website to learn some pretty good things

www.fwallstreet.com

For books, I would get anything that is Warren Buffett related and his investing techniques have made him billions of dollars. He doesn't do chart watching or any funny techniques like that.

Also, I learned about how the market works by going to the finance section of yahoo, creating a fake portfolio and then adding fake transactions to see how it works.

dummies collections is that bad either if you to get started. begin with 'investing for dummies'. try read this book review:
