Any good suggestions on how to find an investor regarding my patent ideas? |
I am not at all interested in using one of those cheezball places you see on tv, or hiring an intellectual property lawyer. Any citizen can do it on thier own, but I need help the first time. I'm considerably young and inexperienced, but not clueless with this process. No critics please, thank you. I have been doing the same research and once went to one of those cheezball places. They wanted about $2,000.00 up front and could not guarantee anything. Below is some excellent resources including the us patent office which you can search for other ideas like yours to see if has been patented yet. The US patent office has excellent information and has the forms to submit your idea. Try invention companies like Inventech or Davidson. They will help you. If you want to go it alone...you need to research and see if a patent already exists for your idea...if one does not, then submit an application for a patent which takes a lot of time and a LOT of money. Have fun. I have some ideas of my own but I haven't gotten up the guts to start it all. well first you should find whether or not your idea is even patentable. The best thing you can do up-front is figure out how big the commercial market is for your idea(s). If there is no or very little net market (how much you can make minus the cost of setting up), then patenting is not worth it. |
