How do I locate an investor in TN?

Hi! I am looking at purchasing a license to operate under a franchise. I will need about 300K for the startup costs. How can I find someone who might be willing to back me? What is involved with such a partnership? Thanks!

you could probably look at very small boutique Private equity portfolios...

Your first choice is friends and family.

For private investors look for business networking events in your city.

You can also ask your church to do a fund raising for you.

BUT:
1) It is a very slow process - to find private investor. Can take from a couple of months to a couple of years.
2) You are losing part of ownership (income)
3) You are loosing control

Do not sign agreement with private investor befor consulting a lawyer.

I recommend to get just 20% from investors and apply for a business loan.
