Where can the little Investor go to trade commodities like Gold and Silver or Energies like Oil and Gas?

if you dont have a lot of capital you should try trade commodity futures through a commodities futures broker , this lets you by on margin so you only have to put up a fraction of the amount you get exposure to

I use Scottrade and mutual funds like UMESX and USERX

perhaps you can try forex. which is also excellent way for you to invest.

The FOREX or Foreign Exchange market is the largest financial market in the world, with an volume of more than $1.5 trillion daily, dealing in currencies. Unlike other financial markets, the Forex market has no physical location, no central exchange. It operates through an electronic network of banks, corporations and individuals trading one currency for another.

Good Luck && Wish you make a fortune!

Anyone can trade futures contract (commodities like gold, silver, oil, gasoline & natural gas). You just have to have the necessary funds to open an account with a futures/commodities broker.

If you live near a Borders or Barnes & Noble, go to their magazine section and look for the following magazines:

-Futures
-Technical Analysis of Stocks & Commodities
-Stocks, Futures and Options (SFO)

These will give you ideas on trading and commodities brokers advertise in them, so you can get an idea of which broker you'd like to pick.

Also, if you are a small fry investor, you may want to start with the mini-contracts. For example, a full gold contract is 100 oz. of gold. The margin is about $4,000, but you are controlling $63,500 worth of gold. If price moves $1, you will either make or lose $100 depending on if you're long or short. But, with a mini-contract, you risk exposure is less because it's just a smaller version of the full contract. The mini-gold contract is 33 ounces and the margin is about $800. So you can take advantage of gold without the kind of risk exposure of the full sized contract.

Any commodities broker can give you information on the mini-contracts.

Hope this helps.
