As an investor, do you think some managers are paid too much? Do their rewards come at your expense?

As an investor, do you think some managers are paid too much? Do their rewards come at your expense?

You must be joking. As I have held jobs from supervisor, manager, and regional manager trainee, to a corporate headhunter, managers earn every cent they are paid. Badly trained and inefficient managers can actually bankrupt businesses. A corporation needs to spend money for adequate training of all management employees. If money is not spent to pay managers, who are responsible for everything in the operations of a business, it is a sure thing, a business will not grow and prosper. Countless companies have ousted out more seasoned employees who make the most money, and untrained employees are brought in at minimum wage. Very little is done to those employees to give them incentive in the way of adequate wages to compensate them for their hard work when they are put in management positions. K-Mart made the mistake of doing this, and their company ended up in bankruptcy. So it is a catch 22. You either train a manager and pay them a substantial competative wage, or risk your company going under for being greedy.

of course they get paid too much. But the point is that even though they are charging to much so we can use their investment services, the extra money we give up is the money that goes into their pockets. So yes they are overpaid, but we need them to guide the lower level and less experienced investors.

I think there are people at every level of a company that are paid more than their performance justifies.
