A question from a new investor....?

I am a new trader and I just started an account with Etrade and Firsttrade....and i wanted to know first if i have to pay any taxes on my profits and second...which online broker is better...thank you!

First Question: Yes
Second Question: It won't matter because the stock market is going to crash and you will lose what you are putting in now. The dollar will continue to fall and become worthless. Gas/oil prices will continue to increase and if the people rise up, Martial Law will be imposed and people will be rounded up and put into "Detention Centers". Those detention centers are being put up all over the country right now and - get this - you are paying for them. Yep Dick Cheneys Halliburton is making a ton of cash building concentration camps Americans will be put in. God Love America. Don't believe me? http://www.commondreams.org/views06/0418...

Yes you will have to pay taxes on profits but if you have some profits and some losses, your losses can offset you profits.

It's your responsibility to keep records. At the end of the year you will get a 1099 form but if you want your losses to count against it you have to go off your records.

Etrade is probably better because it's more user friendly, but if you are new to investing, this can be more difficult than you think.

You can get sucked into it and it becomes "legalized gambling" and you can lose a lot of money because it's so easy to sell in a panic.

If you are new to investing I would suggest USAA or Charles Schawb so you can get advice. Also I would pick up a few copies of Money Magazine and start doing a lot of reading.

Good luck!

In response to the second part of the question.
The best conditions for trade with thinkorswim think! (http://www.thinkorswim.com). This is a broker Introducing Broker Penson Financial Clearing House (and this distinguished institution). Broker works with the whole set of financial instruments - futures, equities, options, currency. They recognized the best trading terminal terminal over 3 years. Feedback on the broker can be found in the search engines. Good luck!

About taxes on profit: depends on your nationality/where you are living, e.g. USA: yes, The Netherlands: no Also differs in height of tax in different countries.

I think that, at least partly, depends on personal taste and choices. A "comfortable" personal feeling is sometimes better for you than the cheapest solution etc.
