What is the difference between FII and PE(Private equity investor)?

What is the difference between FII and PE(Private equity investor)

I take it by FII you mean a Fixed Income Investor. Fixed Income Investors focus on securities like company and federal bonds, where a fixed interest is paid on the amount invested.

Private Equity Investors put their money in shares of companies that are not traded publicly.

From a general standpoint, Fixed Income is a lot less riskier than Private Equity, thus a PEI would expect much more return than a FII. For that reason, FI forms a larger part of pension funds, while PE often doesn't even show up. PE is more for sophisticated investors (sophisticated, of course, means anyone with lots of money to invest in risky stuff).

Anyways, anyone can be a Fixed Income Investor, but you need very good contacts to make it as a Private Equity Investor.
