Does a business degree teach you to become a Real Estate Investor? |
if I want to be a real estate investor, should I major in business? "NO" No, but it'll help. The accounting and finance aspects will help a lot, and since you'll be pretty much an independent business for most purposes, the rest of the degree will come in handy as well. You would probably be better off taking a lot of carpentry and other repair courses. Knowing how to fix things and knowing how to evaluate whether a house is a gem or a money pit depends on how much work it might need and what kind of work you can do for cheap, and that will determine your profit. NO Yep - I'd say get a degree in Finance and maybe minor in real estate. That will give you all the tools to know what you need. And if the real estate investment thing doesn't work out (I'm hoping you're thinking commercial real estate since residential is waaayyyyy overvalued right now), at least you have a good education. |
