Can anyone give advice on how to find an investor?

I have a product that has provn to sell. Can anyone give me some advice on how to find an investor. My product is a portable abdominal isolator, it has a nech and back support, it is made of fabric, it sold over 41,500 in 90 days by AVON Co. Proof avaliable. The cost to mass produce in China is around 1.10 each packaged. I would like to have it made in USA. I have a patent by the US Gov issued. It solve the storage problem and fold to a four inch box. It is light weight and can be put in a ladys purse. I was told by one marketing person at AVON she could sell 500,000 a mounth if she had the opportunity but she left the job. Any help would be appricated. Thank you and God Bless

i managed a shop and lacked of money last year. so i just wanted to find an investor and i post the condition of my shop to millionairematch and several days after i found the investor there.

Wow- good for you! What you've done so far is admirable and I hope that your success with it continues.

My expertise is more in marketing - but I'll share what I do know - from a friend I have who used to be in the business.

The first thing you need is a rock 'em sock 'em business plan. That's what an investor will want to see. They're going to want to know if you've dotted your i's and crossed your t's before writing a check. There's software and online resources available to guide you through the process of writing a business plan. There are also resources and tips available at the Small Business Administration (SBA) http://www.sba.gov and Small Business Development Corp. (SBDC) Check your white pages to see if they have offices in your city and march yourself down there and get some help with that.

An investor will want to know what you want the money for - is it just for manufacturing and you have a buyer all lined up? A very good scenario. Or do you want to manufacture, market, distribute - the whole enchilada. A more dicey prospect for an investor.

Where you find an investor will also be predicated on how much money you need. I'm ball-parking this here but anything under about $50k and you might be better off with what's known as an "angel investors" which are more likely to give you better terms because it's a small amount of money. More than that and up into the six figures and beyond range and a venture capital firm may be best.

So get all your ducks in a row - and then start asking, "Hey, I've got this great product, an awesome business plan and it's already sold XXXX units - would you know of anyone who might be interested in investing?"

Good luck to you.

all the best,
